EAGLES FALL TO WARRIORS, 44-34 Host Westwood Christian had two recruits from Africa; one standing 7'1" and the other 6'7". Southwest's tallest player is 6'2". So it was certainly no upset when the Warriors topped the Eagles, 44-34, Monday night. Southwest couldn't take the ball to the hoop because of the two big men, so they needed a good night from the 3-point line. That wasn't to be as the Eagles hit only six treys. Throw in a scoreless second quarter and that is not a recipe for victory. The Eagles (1-3) led 14-10 after one quarter, before the Warriors went up 16-14 at the half. Southwest trailed 30-23 entering the final period, cut the deficit to 35-31 with 3:30 to play, but only scored three points the rest of the way. |
